While looking for photos for an photohistory paper, I discovered a website called The Gallery of the Absurd. It essentially makes fun of celebrities, but there is post called 'photoshop in a can'. It claims that anyone that wants, can use photoshop to make themselves beautiful. I thought it was pretty funny, considering the last project where we added faces to bodies.

Really interesting video, it surpised me that it was put out by AARP. It is a new form of propaganda, in a way that makes the viewer think about what they are doing to this earth. It kind of reminds me of Baz Luhrman's 'Everybody's free (to wear sunscreen)'. Its just a little big of life advice, that is mega important. If only we listened.

If we were to have no modern technology, I do not think that people could function. It is like the end of nomadism and pastoralism in Mongolia, the people roamed the land for so long, taking care of their animals, that when the government forced them to stay in one spot, apart of their heritage died. Now, they would not be able to live a nomadic lifestyle. They would perish because it has been decades since they lived that way.
How weird it is to be without a phone for only a few hours, we cannot even get through a class without texting, a day without checking our email and facebook. It is a weird addiction and codependecny on technology. I remember life before the Internet, when my friends used to call me to tell me to go on AOL so we could type to each other. I was 11 when I got my brother's old cell phone, that only my mother called me on because none of my friends had cellphones yet. I remember when nobody texted, now I don't remember the last time a friend called me.

Its kind of sad and kind of amazing to see the change and to be apart of it all.
